winds are back….only this time from the N NE to E, blowing right down the bay… we are going fishing anyway…right????.. well we did for a bit.. water was trashed… dirty and lots of floating grass..and yes, lots of bait and fish, but you could not get to them because of the grass… after an hour of being frustrated and whatnot… we went to the house to watch football… Sunday we decided to try it again.. only this time in the surf.. surf was too rough to wade or anchor and fish out of the boat, so… we spent the am chasing birds and bait.. lots of Spanish mackerel and some Tarpon along with schools of Jacks.. caught some Spanish, got spooled by???? thought once by Tarpon and once by a Jack.. lost several spoons and topwaters on breakoffs. went back in the bay and decided to wade a small section of shoreline.. approx 1 hr.. caught 4 reds and lost several more after the hookup.. finished about 11 am and went to watch the Texans get hammered, and the Cowboys win.. Now we are watching IKE, to see if we are going to run or stay… such is life on the Texas coast. 'till next time……..capt mac
