Al Gauron's Deep Sea Fishing Report 9/18/08

We had a 12 hour marathon out yesterday. Capt. Dan had the Northern Star on this trip. They had a great day. Lots of nice big pollock, some cod and large hake.Capt. Johnie had the White Star on the regulat allday trip. Some of everything. Cod, pollock, haddock, cusk and alot of throwbacks.

The Starfish had a private charter yesterday. They had some cod, cusk, and stirred up the dogfish a little bit.

Today, Capt. Cory had the duty. The ocean was unexpectedly windy and rough. They had fished for about an hour. During a windy gust, the Starfish pulled back on the anchor as hard as it could. The anchor rope broke. The anchor and all its' chain with 400 ft of rope gone! With the conditions deteriorating, instead of re-rigging, the Starfish came home, all anglers were given full rain checks to try it again on a better day.
