There was an amazing amount of anglers fishing the ocean today. I suppose a good weather report, the showing up of the occasional keeper, the lack of green flies and calm seas will do that. Seas weren't calm all day, there was a transition from no drift to too much drift to no drift through out the day. Quite a few nice fluke were weighed in this afternoon. Bragging rights go to John Bragitikos, Mike Patrick and Karl Fisher whom carted around the TEN pounder at THIRTY inches! There were another half dozen nice keepers to round out their day. Great Job guys. Activity wasn't any better one place then another. Garden State South, Little Egg, misc lumps, forty feet and sixty feet, anglers picked flatties all day.
There is a little bit of weakfish activity around too. High hook was SEVEN weakies. I do not know any of the particulars, but the point I am trying to make is if weakfishing is your thing, it might be worth a shot.
