Bob Kurelko weighed in an 8.6 pound 28 inch fluke this afternoon that he picked off of the LE reef. Bob and crew caught twenty plus other fluke of which seven were keepers. Yesterday, Joey Zac and crew had a LIMIT CATCH of sixteen fluke on the LE reef with their two largest at 7.4 26" and 6.4 26 and a half feet. Another talented angler, John, stops in this afternoon and reports running all over the ocean only to come back looking at an empty cooler.
Several anglers said all they caught in the slew between the ball and the little Island on the North West side of the fish factory was little sea bass and spots. One angler, Ron was in this morning and on his last trip reported twenty two kingfish. He loaded up on clam chum, bloodworms and fresh clams and was headed out again. Ron usually sets up either in front of Pebble Beach or down in front of Graveling Point on the AC side of the point. In years past, other anglers found their hot spot for kingfish in the area of 134 marker on the AC side of the inter coastal waterway toward the Brigantine meadows.
Not a lot of tuna activity this week due to east winds. There were only few offshore customers through this evening. It seems like everyone is holding off and keeping a close eye on the weather. We have the walk in freezer topped off with sardines and butterfish as the phone has been ringing and customers have been checking in advance to run off tomorrow evening. I think we are ready.
