We are now taking bookings for striper season! Its August and as always its time to call in and confirm your trips.Oct, Nov, and early December we will be departing Buzzards Point marina in Reedville.

Mid December until its over we will be departing the Va beach fishing center on Rudee Inlet. Same slips in both places as previous years!

Give us a call at 804 725 6288 to set your striper dates before there gone!

Don't forget to leave the keys to Providence II under the mat and make sure she's full of fuel. I promise I'll be careful. Do you have one of those cute white Captain's Outfits I can wear too? You know, the one with the long white knee socks, white shoes,
and cap? I want to look official when the Coast Guard boards us.

The old dog days of summer are on us now! Water temps are in the upper 80's for the river but the fishing is still good. Spot fishing in both the Rapp and the Piankitank rivers have slowed a bit with the heat but a change in the weather will get them biting again. Numbers this past week have averaged in the 75 count per person. With the warm water the little bait stealers make it hard to load up on the bigger fish. The good news is that the croaker fishing is oustanding! We have ran a several trips across the bay this week and have absolutely loaded the boat with croakers in the 10-16 inch range. A few keeper flounder are also being caught on these trips. Trout are in the mix regularly now and quite a few above the 12 inch minimum are being boated. Trolling this past week has been productive but the ratio has gone back to more bluefish than spanish mackerel but its still outstanding action! We are on vacation from the 9th thru the 16th so until then good fishing to you all.

Jeff
