August 25, 2008All the trips from friday through Sunday were great.Plenty of porgies and lots of blues. Sameer Regee and Ed Pisani had the boat on friday. Porgies near Gull Island and blues on the flood in the Gut.
Vema Construction fished for porgies first and then jigged blues to 12 pounds near Gardiners Island on Saturday. Really good fishing all day.
Greg Maloney and a few buddies brought their sons out to Orient for some porgies and blues. Great fishing with good sized scup and lots of blues which the boys helped their dads crank in.
We had two twi-lite sails this weekend with Steve Molinaro and his softball buddies loading up on blues at Pigeon Rip. The small group had a 3 hour trip from door to door and managed over 50 choppers . All but a few were released. How fortunate we are to have a place like Pigeon or the Gut so close to the dock.
On Sunday we hosted a bachelor party for T.J. Buckley. T.J. is a mate out in Orient as are his brothers Chris, presently working on the Prime Time and Dan who works on the Brooklyn Girl. All 3 of the brothers began their careers out east while learning at their Grandfathers side. Capt. Roddy DeLisle of the Prowler got the boys started when they were very young..All 3 are certified teachers and T.J., the youngest, will be getting married in Oct. Best of luck T.J!
