Kevin Mills of Garner is supposed to be looking a the fine catch of Spanish mackerel he and Suzanne Jordan, Clayton and Martha Mills of Garner landed today while fishing aboard the World Cat.Captain Chris and Boston Rob , along with the crew landed these while on a half day charter to the AR 455. Earlier in the day Captain Chris Dew had joined them for a quarter day aboard the It Works and also did damage. Roger and his charter pulled out on the new World Cat about 10am. I haven't talked to him yet, but I'll hook up(a little fishing lingo) tomorrow.
The ocean was rough this morning making fishing a little uncomfortable. It soon changed to 3 foot rolls and by a little later it smoothed out. Roger had a child aboard, so hew poked his nose out of the Shallotte Inlet and returned. He wanted the child to have a good experience on his first trip instead of being scared or sick. We want people to have an enjoyable fishing experience.
My plan for tomorrow is to go kayak fishing with my new water proof camera I got for my birthday, and get some cool pictures for the report!
Mike Herndon and crew made it look more like hawg days with this catch of kings and a dolphin on Saturday. Live pogies accounted for these fish, the biggest weighing 34 and 32 pounds. Carson Herndon and Zach Illing made up the crew on Mike's boat, the "Knot-a-Clue." Congratulations to them for demonstrating that quality fish can be caught in the heat of the summer, if you make a good plan and stick to it.
