Grumpy's Bait and Tackle NJ Fishing Report 8/26/08

The highly accurate weatherman hit yesterday's forecast perfect. We did get rain in the afternoon. Almost enough to get the road wet, but not quite. He is giving up on doom and gloom for today - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Looks like a beach day to me!
Not much news coming from the beaches. Fluke and scattered blues near the inlet, mostly. The Fluke seson is winding down to the early close in two weeks. If you are going to get them, you better get busy! I am hearing the keeper ratio is getting better on the boats. I just don't see the proof on the scale.
If you had a new rod in mind for the Fall fishing you better get it ordered quickly. Mike will be in this evening all rested up from his day off. If you get to him right away, you may just catch him during one of his short bursts of brain activity!
