Good morning! The Wine, Women and Fishing Tournament that took place over the weekend was a tremendous success. Thirty two teams entered the event and a lot of money was raised for the EVMS breast cancer research program. Great job to Jennie Capps, Paige Ray and their "helpers" for a job well done! Now for the fishing…the marlin fishing was pretty good up around the 450 line (50 fathoms) as well as the dolphin fishing. The charter boat "Git R Done" spent the night out there on Saturday night and came home with a load of dolphins and three white marlin flags flying. Way to go, Captain Trick! Also, Congratulations to Captain Greg Span and the ladies on the "Canyon Express" for placing first in the tournament with a blue marlin and a sailfish release. The "Gannet" came in second with 3 white marlin releases and the "Blue Eyed Suns" came in third with a blue marlin release. Congratulations to both of these teams of ladies and Capt. Kurt Ward on the "Gannet" and Captain David Smith on the "Blue Eyed Suns".Everyone is gearing up for the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament which kicks off on Wednesday (August 20th). As of this morning, 69 teams are registered and Rudee Inlet is going to come to life mid week. If you are interested in entering, you should act now because there is a 75 boat limit. www.vbbt.com (757) 652-8409 See you under the tent!
