Captain's Fishing Parties Fishing Report 8/17/08

All day fishing during the week was a good catch of pollock or haddock depending where we fished, numbers were up for the jig fisherman, the bait guys had to work alittle harder. Over the past two days being Sat and Sun the bite has fallen off, probably do to the tide, which has been running at a pretty good clip. The good news is the tide should start to let go at this point to the fishing should be back to normal soon. Out tommorrow to let you know!!! 1/2 day boats have done really well with the bluefish for most of the weekend although the report for the pm trip on sunday was dogfish and lots of them, probably tide or the wind for the day. All the trips have room all week. We do have one more 18 hr trip on Monday the 25th with some room, reservations are needed for this one>

The Cashes trip this past Monday was great, sorry about the delayed report. Fished most of the day with no problem with weather and the rain held off until the ride home. The group we had on board was terrific, lots of fun, some old faces and some new to the boat. Hope every one enjoyed the trip and the crew, and hope to see everyone again soon. Started right off with a couple of tuna fish which were lost right at the top but put on a good show. Landed a 30lb halibut and played with a blue shark for a while. The ground fishing was also very productive catching more haddock, but mixing it up with Pollock and cod. Very steady fishing throughout the day with only making a few adjustments on the anchor as the tide turned, after the first relocation first off in the morning, lots of fishing time. Cooler and fillet bags were full at days end. A few pictures of the fun!!!
