Laycee, Justin, and Evan Rodriguez with some croakers and kingfish off a private dock with Capt. Jim Moten
Inshore fishing continues to be productive. There was trout found at Tom's Cove and the CV marker on slack tide. Croaker up to 15 inches from Inlet View Campground to Peyton Place. Kingfish and spot were scattered about. There were also a few flounder found today around the CV marker. Gulp squid caught the largest croakers then the trout were caught on Gulp shrimps and also were the flounder.
POONTANG MISSED OUT ON SPADE-FISH! WHY?
The team did not catch any spade-fish today, but instead, a variety of trout, croakers, spot, and some wimpy sea bass! The bad wind current and rough water kept them away from the spade-fish zone. And just like usual, they got eaten by flies (on and off the harbor)! Remember to take out some bugspray we have 100% deet that works well. Just hope tomorrow they can conclude their spade-fishing spree, or it's game over.
Thanks for report Capt. Lee from the "Poontang!"
Nick and I hit the surf tonight after work. We caught 5 spot and 2 small blues that later became dinner. Nick learned how to fillet fish, he also said you cant beat fresh fish. We had a good time before the storm came in. We ahd the best luck on fresh spot and shrimp tonight. That's all for tonight. Tight Lines, Jimmy
