Here are some of the reports we have received since last week:
Capt Carey Evans on the Grizzly reports:" that after a month of some of the worst bottom fishing in local history, things may finally be looking up. We finally have the croakers in the Delaware Bay. The water is still cooler than average as any beachgoer will agree with, but at least it is finally not cold. Things have been looking up lately with more croakers showing up along with large numbers of blowfish. We're looking forward to getting cranked up with the yellowfin tuna fishing this month through mid October as well. We did catch a tiger shark on one of the trips and had a 200 lb mako on a shimano jig for about 20 minutes before he finally bit through the monofilament. This was a site that we will not soon forget as this mako put on the best acrobatic shows one could only imagine."
Mike Lindale was fishing the Broadkill with a Gulp and minnow combo and nailed a 19 1/2" Flounder.
Ellen White caught a 3.2 lb puppy drum at Massey's Landing using fresh clams.
Chris Shepherd nailed an 8Lb sheepshead at the Outerwall on a sand flea.
Harry Reetz also fished the Outer Wall and boated a 19 inch 4.35 lb tog on Green Crabs.
Capt. Ryan Marshall of the Miss Rilee Charters fished the Delaware Bay this weekend with good success on the croakers and they welcomed them with open arms. They started in the lower bay and had a good pick and when the tide dropped, they moved up the bay where the fish were waiting and eager to bite.
