Today we were fishing with long time friends Dale and Ella Foster from Lexington,NC. As far as we know, we just share the same last name but from different origins.
They fish with us every year and Capt Chris always tries to get off work so he can go with us. He made the trip again this year.
We started off on the east side and worked our way around to the SW. The fish were there but were not aggresively feeding so we had to stay on the move picking up one here and a few there.
By the end of the day the tactics payed off as we had a load of fish to show for our efforts. Remember, if one thing doesn't work, keep experimenting until you put together a plan.
Also remember that some days, nothing might not work great, but just keep pecking and at days end you will have something for your efforts.
Even if you can't put the fish bite together, you will still have a day of fishing and away from all the stress that's in the world today.
Unless you are the Captain and it's your job to find fish that will bite, then you are stressed to the end!!!
Dale and Ella, as always we were very happy to see you again. I keep trying to get to Lexington long enough to go crappie fishing with ya'll on High Rock Lake or just have dinner one evening.
It's amazing how fast the years go by now and how little time you have left to get things done.
Capt Chris and I went to High Rock Lake, I'm thinking about 4 years ago now, maybe longer and put in about a dozen crappie brush piles in deep water for fishing in the winter and we still haven't been able to fish them.
I am going to do my best to show Dale where they are this winter. Hopefully I can since I am toying with the idea of cutting back on some of my shows and seminars this year.
We had a great day visiting and fishing and a good day of catching as well. We ended the day with Grey Snappers, B-Liners, Grouper,Silver Snapper, King Mackeral, Black Bass, Almaco Jacks, Triggerfish, Jolt Heads, and sharks…
You guys tell family we all said hi!!! Be safe and leave a few crappies in the lake for seed.
Hope to see ya'll again soon. May God Bless You All!!!
Fish On!!!!
