Today we were fishing with Bill, Russell,Jim,William, Aaron, and Tony Arno from Stokesdale,NC and Minnesoto.

It was rough on our beach and the Spanish Mackeral bite has been happening for the past few days up at Carolina Beach.

With the SW winds, the beach up at Carolina would be calm so we headed up there.

The beach was calm just as expected, but, after a few phone calls I was informed that the Spanish Mackeral bite that was going on was not going on today.

Well, there was a few shrimp boats out up at Carolina, the sharks had to be biting better that they were yesterday.

At least we did catch one today.

William Arno was the "rod man" when this Atlantic Sharpnose" took the bait. His helpers were Aaron and Tony Arno. The threesome fought the beast to the boat where they had their picture taken with their catch, great job guys!!!

We only had a few more bites but no takers and not a Spanish Mackeral in sight!!

Yeah the reports are not pretty, but, "It is what it is"!!!

Scott Blevins, a good friend and great fisherman has been doing real good on the Speckled Trout lately with limit catches.

Don't know what he's using for bait or where he's fishing, but if he says he's catching them, then he's catching them!!!

The Spanish Mackeral were reported to be around five miles off the beach today and the King Mackeral are in the ten mile range.

The water is slowly clearing up and as soon as it does the fish should be back on the beach again.

There are some pogys slowly getting back on the beach, and the fish will have to follow them, eventually!!!

It's tough running 1/2 day trips these days with these gas guzzling boats we have to have to go offshore, and getting to the fish when they are offshore like they are now is very expensive!!

And a lot of you know I still go to the fish and sometimes go "in the hole" just to get you fish when I have to do it.

And I will continue when I have to and the conditions warrant!!

But the past two days it has been too rough to get offshore even if I wanted to go, it's not worth the risk!!!

Got another "close in" trip tomorrow, I sure hope the pieces of this puzzle starts falling into place better soon.

I can handle the physical part of this charter fishing, but this mental part of the fish not biting and trying to figure out how to make one bite is much worse than the labor part has ever been.

Combine the two, and it can be a nightmare, but everyone knows that when you get to "fish" everyday, you got it made, "YEAH RIGHT"!!!!!

Till next time, God Bless!!!
Fish On!!!!!
