Cooling water temperatures are making fish catching difficult. How can it be in the lower fifties on July Fourth weekend! Angers report having better activity back up in the bays on the falling tides rather then down the inlet or inter coastal nearer the Little Egg Inlet.
Weakfish? Lots of talk about weakfish in the mouth of the Mullica River, but when it comes time to produce fish, there doesn't seem to be any. Should have been here last week is the word. I didn't get word from the tight lipped few guys that are working them, just a lot of hear say second hand inconsistent mumbo jumbo.
Angers found sea bass in seventy feet of water earlier in the week, I am not sure how this constant south wind causing the water temperature to drop is going to effect the bite. It usually doesn't help.
Crabbing still is the best show in town. Lots of crabbing folks very pleased with the quantity and quality of crabs so far this weekend!
