Wednesday, July 23, 2008*** 7-23-2008 *** ****** FISHIN REPORT BY Ripp ****** Damit Boy, I tink we set some kind a record today, we fished for 25 minutes and caught 20 Legal redfish, never caught one rock, never broke one leader, shit i don't even tink we threw off a shrimp. i want to Thank Bill G. and guest from Arkansas some where around Lil Rock for fishin with me today. dey was in town for a lil Business but mostly lots of fun and sight seein, talked to dem yesterday while i was cleanin fish cuz dey was a lil lost, dey had went to Jean Lafitte National Park and ended up by Joe's drinkin cold drafts, Yes i did drink a few myself with dem. dey was flyin back to Ak. after lunch today and i told dem i could have dem back way before lunch with a mess of nice redfish, knot tinkin we was gonna catch da limit dat quick. dey got to da dock right on time and we got dem some drinks and snacks and off we went. it was lookin pretty ugly at day break towards da gulf, i don't know how we made it out and back in without one drop of rain, now we made 1 stop and like i said it took us all of 25 minutes to catch 20 reds. we caught all of dem on dead shrimp under a slidein sinker. now dis crew all 3 of dem was Big fisherman, been all over da world fishin for some fish i never even heard of. i was da Master Baiter and Net man today and i was pretty business doin both. now dem reds was runnin about 18 to 22 inches but dey was stacked up right dare, now yesterday mornin unlike da couple of days before we didn't catch but 2 keepers right dare but dis mornin when we pulled up i saw a couple of fish hit on da surface before i speared us down and i know it wasn't mullets dat was doin dat. i tink Mr. Ed had a red on before da bait hit da bottom, shit i don't tink he even had da Bail closed yet before he pulled back on da rod but of coures nothin happen cuz da bail was open, we had 2 more nice reds on before he landed his fish, now dats what you call bein in da right place at da right time, dis was one of dem days you gonna use for a while, like man, you should have been here yesterday. i don't know if da weather scared everybody else off or everybody cancled dare trips cuz of da weather but we never saw another fisherman, we saw a couple of crab fisherman. dem clouds was rollin in right over us just like someting you see in a movie but we never had any wind at all. we got us a good group picture back at da dock, when we got back dey still had some of da mornin crew drinkin coffee, when i walked in dare dey taught i forgot someting. i told dem no i didn't forget anyting i was just back with my limit, dey didn't even beleive me dey had to walk out dare with me to see dem redfish hangin on da board. what a day of fishin dat was, just as quick as you can do it. dey had a much longer wait at da airport den dey taught dey was gonna have.
