Traveled 45 miles south from OC into a decent 4 foot (at least for the most part) head sea to the parking lot. Were headed to the lumpy bottom but after a 2 hour and 31 minutes boat ride we decided that was far enough. Started fishing around 8:30 on the hump there, saw a lot of petrels, always a good sign, but wound up with only kingfish. had several bites, only caught two, one was about 20lbs, no tunas, action was further south, got our asses kicked for almost nothing. Beautiful ride home in gently rolling following seas though.
