This weekend we fished with Freddie Schraft and his friends for both days. The boys totaled over 30 keeper fluke and 3 giant seabass. Plenty of porgies around for those who made the switch. On Sat. Rick Colabelli had the largest fluke of 5.5 pounds and Sundary Fred'd 4.5 was the winner. Dennis Walsh, George Callaway and Pat Connor, pictured here, each had seabass close to 5 pounds. All fishing was at Gardiners. On another note, I noticed very few boats down there. Between the fuel prices and the ridiculous regulations people don't seem to be making the effort to go. Those 2 factors should be all the regulating factors that are needed to reduce the 'harvesting" of these fish…but somehow ,someone is still going to say that we are catching too many and should be shut down. If we were fishing by the standards of 3 years ago we would have had 100 fish to bring home…Pleenty of fish around.
