The OC White Marlin Open is next week. Good billfish bite reported from the 100 fathom line of the Baltimore Canyon. Blue and white marlin with yellowfin tuna out there in decent numbers. Super fantabulous, almost too good to be true, reports of major cnoncentrations of billfish in the Washington and Norflok Canyons!!Bluefins inshore around Masseys. They are real finicky. Most boats are slow trolling deep and way back from the boat. A few boats have strated chunking with butterfish and sardines. Both in stock at Old Inlet

This fishing license thing is interesting. We are selling more than 100 a day on the weekend and nearly 20% of everyone coming through the door needs a license. Thats alot of new customers every day!!

Surf fishing is the best bet for all of you vacationers with kids. There are plenty of spot, kingfish and croakers out there to keep your little ones busy. Surf fishing offers easy access - there are three walk on areas within a short distance of the store - and it a affordable. We can get you set up with rod, reel and everthing else for less than $100 (or approximately one tank of gas).

Bloodworms, real or fake, are the hot bait on the surf. Fresh bunker and finger mullet have been good for the few bluefish that are here. fresh mullet are just starting to show up. They are the black river mullet. Finger mullet are not here yet.

Bluefish and shad are in the Indian River Inlet on the incoming tides during the day. The best striper fishing is at night on live eels and black lures.

If you have a boat and enough money for live spot and the fuel you can fin dsome keeper flounder and rockfish in the Inlet during the day.

Sheepshead and tautog in the rocks. Use live sand fleas and live green crabs. Look for puppy drum to show any day.

There are some nice tautog in the Inlet as evidenced by Newarks very own Touy Thirauoungs 8.7 pound tautog.

Feel free to email us a report or to submit pictures for our picture page.

Good fishing!!
