The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's Artificial Reef Program had a busy 2007 improving habitat on the state's network of 15 artificial reef sites. Among deployments planned for this summer is the sinking of a 51-foot fire boat from the New York City Fire Department. The 34-ton steel boat will become a memorial reef on the Sea Girt Reef.
