After yesterdays fiasco and frustration, I decided to go back and see if I couldnt exact my revenge on the cobes. We left at 2:30 with Scott, John and Paul Angelson, and Jason from the Fin Seeker to go back and see if I couldnt pick the cobias up where I had left them the day before. First stop, they were there. About a dozen of them, mostly pups, but we ended up catching 4 cobes on that one. Two on the jig, one on a spot and one on a croaker. Two were close to being legal, but we figured if you gotta measure them, it aint worth it so back in they went. Over the next hour, we saw over a dozen more, catching 4 of those and after releasing all of them we figured we oughta take one for the fish box, so we pull up to the buoy and Scott free gaffs a 35#er. These cobes were hungry and we ended up catching 8 in a little less than 2.5 hours. Good fishing.
