Dan Chu and kids Quinn & Alexis from Round Hill, Va along with Aunt Lori & Kevin Krominga from Glendale, AZ and Gramps Milton Zimmer (not in pic) from Jackson MI had a great day fishing with Captain Charlie on the Island Queen. They had 84 Spot and 14 Northern Kingfish. Captain Charlie says he has been fishing here for almost 40 years and has never seen so many spot caught.
Ryan Terry from Chincoteague with a 95.2 pound bluefin he caught this past Saturday.
The first picture is Richard Shirk from Mifflintown, PA. 21 1/2" Flounder caught on Monday, July 14, 2008. This fishing trip was chartered by Captain Mac McDowell. A reminder that flounder season is closed until the 31st of this month.
In the back bay there are a lot alot of spot. Capt Wayne said he caught more spot fishing today than he has in the last 15 years he has been chartering. A lot of doubles about 3 hours of steady pulling in fish. The action is going strong right now. The Assateague Va surf is still on fire with a mixture of spot, kingfish, and some blues were also there today. A few spike trout also made a showing. Take out the small EC surfballs with fishbites and bloods for the best productivity. We also have some spottie rigs a double hook rig with yellow and pink tubing which works great on the spots, the hooks are really sharp and the right size for these fish. If you want to target the bluefish take some cut bait we have fresh spot and mullet available. Tight Lines…Jimmy
