Mike from Peace Token Tackle in NY came up today for his first shot at popping/jigging a bluefin off CC Bay….it won't be his last trip, I'm sure.

Fish was hooked on a metallic sardine jig, 8.5 foot G-Loomis jig stick, saltiga 50 with PE braided line. Fight lasted past the 3 hour mark, we had the fish at color for 2 plus of those, tough getting that last 50 feet with wispy gear. Special thanks goes out the crew of FOUR BUOYS, who hopped on to help with end game, as I had of course left the poon at home. What a great feeling sticking the iron into this one. Fish taped out at just a hair over 77", estimated at 270 pounds.
