At South Jersey Marina, 180 boats joined the 28th Annual Shark Tournament held June 13-14, 2008. The weather was good, the emotions of the 700+ anglers were high, but the fishing left a little to be desired. In order to minimize waste and preserve the species, the contest had a 200 pound minimum on all sharks. As a result, there were 287 releases reported over the two days and some that went unreported. Therefore, the weighed shark were kept to a minimum.

One More Cast - Capt. Len Andalis 347 lb. Thresher -$78,727
Tashtego - Capt. Rick Popovitch 308 lb. Hammerhead - $26,443 
There were no qualifying Mako or Blue Sharks weighed.
