The best bite continues to occur inshore, with BFT being caught at Masseys Canyon, Hambone, Lumpy Bottom and the Parking Lot. The weather forcast was wrong and kept alot of boats from either going all the way to the canyons or just staying home - it was very fishable on saturday. There are YFT and some Marlin mostly in the northern canyons, Wilmington and Spencer. There are reports that there was a 195# Bluefin caught near the Norfolk Canyon.
Chris, one of our valued alltackle-OC employees jumped at the last minute and got his shift covered so he could fish on a 27' Hydrosports. They made it out to the Hambone and got their limit with an under and an over - a nice 92# fish on a cedar plug. They also caught a mahi and a couple of bluefish. Back by noon. Not bad.
Masseys has large numbers of schoolie Bluefins. Hambone is a better shot for an over-BFT.
