Capt. Rich reported an okay day with the cod today. Codfish were caught at just about every stop. More green fish than dark ones today including a few nice ones into the middle teens. Some very encouraging signs locally however as the waters were just teeming with sand eels. In some places the sand eels were 30 to 50 feet thick!! The sand eels were even on the surface for while changing the color of the water they were so thick! This angler has not seen sand eels in this quantity in about fifteen years. Most of the cod taken were spitting up knots of sand eels and had fist fulls of them in their stomachs. Signs strongly point to a new body of codfish starting to enter the area between what we witnessed Saturday and again today. We would like to go cod fishing Wednesday but reservations are required as we want to go and not be stuck at the dock. If you are serious about coming cod fishing Wednesday, Kindly call the office and let us know. The trip will be on the Gail Frances at 7am.

Capt. Mike reported a vast improvement in the local fluke fishing today. It was like a different world today compared to that over the weekend. A nice mix of keepers and shorts with the shorts providing action all day long. Hearse from Queens had 4 nice fluke to take home including the 4lb pool winner. Next fluke trip sails tomorrow morning at 8am aboard the Admiral Frances.
