Capt. Ray reported the local squid fishing was once again solid last night with consistent action all night long. A mix in sizes including some super size tubes. Again the more experienced squid fishermen fared very well filling one half to nearly one full bucket. Again light sinkers and casting and fishing different water depths was the key to success but every done fairly well with even novices filling a third to near one half a five gallon pail. As long as the very good squid fishing continues so will we continue to angle for these tasty mollusks. Also, as the night before some fluke were caught including one around 4lbs and some others that didn't quite make it into the boat. Tonight sounds like a gorgeous night to be out on the local squid grounds and we will be there. The squid boat will set sail at 7pm tonight aboard the Admiral Frances please call the office for a reservation.

We have two boats on the offshore cod grounds so look for an update later tomorrow or early Monday morning to find out the details. Local cod fishing this Sunday and Monday, thereafter call for details as we will be switching over to the Jumbo Fluke/Seabass in the very near future. It looks like a great weekend to beat the heat and come down to go fishing.

Capt. Rich reported a very good day of local cod fishing. We caught cod everyplace we stopped with a good pick in the morning and again in the afternoon. During the morning there was also a nice bunch of sea bass taken. Again a nice mix of dark and quite a few green fish today and again the fish were spitting up sand eels.in addition to an assortment of other things such as crabs and lobsters, etc. A bunch of short cod today as well with many of them just missing the mark. Ryan MaGuire"s group from the Boston area had a great time totaling nearly a dozen nice cod to 12lbs and ten nice sea bass. Bob from Blackstone, Mass had a fine catch of 4 nice cod to 10lbs and a few good sea bass and another angler went home with 3 good cod to 10lbs, a 3.5lb sea bass., a nice red hake and a good size whiting. Most anglers had at least a cod or two to take home and a couple sea bass. Capt. Rich came down for a minutes and promptly caught the biggest cod of the day with a fish around 15lbs. He said the cod fought so hard he thought it was a bluefish or Pollock! All the cod today were fat healthy fish and full of fight. There were very few dogfish today and it was a beautiful sunny pleasant day on the water. Next cod trip sets sail tomorrow morning at 7am.

Capt. George reported a big turnout of anglers for fluking today but unfortunately the fluke decided to take the day off. To be sure anglers got a few nice fish and some shorts but it was just a slow day. Congrats to Connie Tu who took the pool with a fine 6lb slab. Next fluke trip sets sail tomorrow morning at 8am aboard the Admiral Frances.
