Capt. Don reported some excellent fluking along the beach once again today aboard the Lady Frances on the AM 1/2 day. Anglers enjoyed a nice steady pick of good size fluke and some shorts. A good number of fish in the 4 to 5 lb range but the largest fish of the day was brought to the net by Daniel Dalomba with a 26 inch 7lb slab.
Capt. Mike reported another excellent day of fluking along Rhode Island's south shore on the 8am full day boat today!!
Capt. Mike went back to the scene of the crime yesterday and anglers were picking away at some good size fluke but then around 11:30 Capt. Mike thought we should be doing a little better so we took a short ride and shortly after the engines were silenced rods were bent up and down the entire length of the boat with a dozen keepers boated in minutes!! The rest of the day featured a nice steady pick of keepers and shorts. A lot of good fish today again in the 4 to 6lb range with the largest fish just over 7lbs. Today was certainly in the same category of yesterday rating as one of the best days this angler has ever seen for size along the beach. There seems to be a big body of big fish right now along the beach. Angler highlights include but are not limited to the following: Lee from New York had his full limit of fish to 5 pounds with three of the fish over 4lbs. Eric from Burlington Ct took home 5 keepers to 5lbs while Tommy from Bayside had 4 keepers to 6 lbs. Cory and Nick from Stamford, Ct teamed up for 9 big fluke with Cory taking the best for the day and the pool with a fish just over 7lbs while Nick's largest was just over 5lbs. Jimmy from New York had 4 keepers to 5lbs with two of them over 4lbs while another angler had 8 keepers for the day out of a catch of 25 fish, retaining only his limit, and he also had a brace of 4lbrs. Mr. O'grady had 6 keepers today including a brace of jumbos of 6 and 5.5lbs out of a total catch of 33 fish.. A number of other anglers went home with 3 to 4 keepers apiece. Next 8am fluke trip sails Tuesday morning aboard the Admiral Frances.
Capt. Rich reported a tough day today aboard the 7am fluke boat. The fish that were caught were quality fish with very few shorts and the majority in the jumbo category (4lbs plus) but just not in the quantity hoped for. About a dozen keeper sea bass mixed in as well. Pool winning fluke was 9lbs. Next 7am trip sails tomorrow aboard the Gail Frances.
Capt. Chris reported a good 1/2 PM trip with some nice keepers and plenty of shorts to keep customers occupied. A lot of fish were dropped too, probably due to the fast drift conditions. Half day trips sail daily.
