Ran out at 6:30am and headed to Great Kills. Loaded the livewell with over 50 bunker and headed outside the harbor to set up. first 3 spots were all bluefish. Moved around on Old Orchard and along the reach channel. Had one short bass and tons of blues by 10am all on bunker heads and chunks. Made another move away from everyone and hooked 2 bass within 3 min of setting the hook. Landed one and lost the other after a 300yd run, hard to reel in 2 fish with only one guy on the boat. The one keeper was just over 20lbs and 37". Was hoping it was going to turn on but then the tide slacked and never really got going well and the E wind picked up. nothing but blues and short run offs from there on out. Will be out again early next week once the E wind dies out.
