On Saturday 5/3, 46 boats entered the annual spring tournament organized by the American Striper
Association. When they left South Jersey Marina, the fog had really set in and visibility was very poor. As the day wore on, the cold winds picked up which made fishing even more difficult. At the end of the day, several fish were weighed – the winning fish weighed 38.6 pounds. The team that won 1st. place was boat #44 "Pirasea" and as you can see by the picture, it was a proud captain and crew.
On the same day, Cap't. Bill Bittmann on the Charter Boat "Top Shelf" returned to the dock with a nice catch of 4 drum. Barry Gibson of Seven Fields, PA and 5 of his friends were in the Delaware Bay for a combination Drum/Striped Bass trip. When Barry weighed the heaviest fish of the day, he was proud of his 37-pound catch.
