Memorial Day Weekend is coming!! The summer season is getting started. Good weather is forecatsed and the Old Inlet tent Sale is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Good run of striped bass in the Indian River Inlet on Sunday and Monday mornings to kick off the week. The last hour to an hour and a half of the incoming tide is producing good catches. Bucktails and swim shads have been the best baits.
There are some keepers in the mix. David Lenz, of Ellicot City MD, weighed a 21 plus pounder Monday morning.
Just prior to the weekend, Claude Davis (Old Inlet) landed a 11 pound 12 ounce trout on the rocks. It is the first big trout we have seen this year. Our records indicate that what little of a trout run we have anymore will occur over the next three weeks.
Plenty of sharks on the surf. Some over 20 pounds according to numerous reports. A few blues as well, but nothing special. Good weather should change things on the beach. Look for kingfish and blues on the beach this weekend. Fresh bunker is available
They still picking up some nice flounder in the Indian River Bay. Also heard the Rehoboth/Lewes canal is full of flounder. The first 2 hours of the outgoing tide is the best time to fish the canal.
Notice to Anglers: Effective May 11 the minimum size for flounder increased from 18 inches to 19.5 inches. The daily limit remains at 4 fish.
We are still carrying live green crabs even though the Delaware tautog season is closed. Many people are buying crabs (and lead because we are cheaper - 25 cents an ounce versus 30 cents an ounce plus tax) here on the way to Ocean City. The current limits in OC are two fish at 16 inches.
Live sand fleas are beginning to become available. Its sporadic right now.
Notice to Anglers: Effective May 12 Tautog season will be closed in Delaware waters through June 30.

Also, if you are getting a boat license you will need to show your current boat registration.
