Capt. Rich reported that ten year old Alex from Warwick,RI brought a fine 32lb steaker to the gaff today aboard the Gail Frances and walked away with the pool.. Anglers had a mixed bag that included market size cod, ocean pout of varying sizes, some good size perch and a 19 inch 3.5lb snowshoe flounder. A decent amount of short cod today as well. A few fish still on jigs and teasers today. Next codfish trip sets sail at 7am tomorrow on the Gail Frances.
Capt. Mike reported an okay day with the fluke. A nice mix of keepers and shorts with the largest fish around 4lbs and hi hook had 4 keepers with quite a few guys having 2-3 keepers each. Little bucktail and spro jigs fished above the sinker once again caught the lion's share of the bigger fish today. Next fluke trip sets sail at 8am on the Admiral Frances Sunday Morning.
Capt. Ray reported the squid fishing was pretty good last night. It was a slow steady pick except for a few good flurries and most anglers wound up with around half a five gallon pail to a full pail apiece. Mixed sizes but lots of jumbo tubes in the mix. There was an amazing amount of squid through all depths of the water column and a tremendous amonut of baitfish that they were chasing. Next squid adventure will set sail tonight at 7pm aboard the Admiral Frances.
