Capt. Ray called in an excellent squid report from last night. Mixed sizes but some great action with Mr. Coo filling a five gallon pail to the top with the tasty mollusks. Everyone did well with the majority filling half a pail or a bit better.Several large fluke was were taken by one angler on as well as everal shorts were caught and released on the squid jigs as well. Next squid expedition takes place this evening beginning at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances.
Capt. Mike reported a decent day on the local fluke grounds despite a big groundswell out of the south. The bite was very good first thing in the morning and then as the swell continued to build the bite eased up a bit but anglers still enjoyed a slow and steady pick of mostly keeper fluke .Almost all the action with shorts was early in the day. Hi hook for the day had 6 good keepers to 5lbs and a bunch of other anglers had 3 to 5 nice fluke apiece to take home. Hi hooks caught as many as 20 fish today. Small bucktails/spro jigs fished ABOVE the sinker by far outproduced all other traditional methods today. We marked an unbelievable amount of squid all over the grounds today and even caught a few big tubes on the fluke rigs. Next fluke trip sets sail tommorrow morning aboard the Lady Frances at 8am.
