Left WB around 0600 with a my friend Joe, don't know his name on here, his dad, his friend, and a his friend's dad headed offshore in hopes of mahi and grouper. Little rougher than the 2ft swell forecasted, more like 2-4 @ 5 seconds, still managed about 20-22kts on the way out and that 36' Grady really has me spoiled when it comes to the ride, but Slow Ride handled it well. Finally got tired of the waves and put lines in near the 23mi reef area to troll towards the Nashville area where I had seen a 72/75 degree break the night before. Picked up a couple 10lb or so kings on a red/white stretch 20, nothing touched the rest of the spread. Had a wahoo lure on the WWB, feeling hopefull, hey, I had gotten a blue marlin the day before, anything can happen!. I saw more flyers at one point than I have EVER seen. It was insane, like 100-200 fish flying away from the bow it seemed at times. No weedlines or debris to be spoken of. Pushed off to about 37nm, found some good looking bottom and started drop. Fished about 5-6 hours picked up 2 gags, both short, and a ton of grunts, some pinkys, a few lizard fish, a good mixture. Headed back in around 3, still bumpy, but in the troughs we were making about 24-26kts, occasionally up to 32kts, then she would launch, only barked once though. Nice day overall, not as good as I had hoped. They ended up with 2 nice eating kings and a cooler full of fish though. __________________
