Monday April 21st

The Stellewagon trip saw great weather, and good action this weekend. The first day stared off with good action on the jigs, with most cod falling just shy of the 24" size limit but we still managed a decent number of keepers for the morning. By noon the morning bite had slowed to a slow grind, we then went looking around for something else to work on but didnt find too much. By the end of the day everyone had a few keepers in the box.

As night came we anchored up on a couple piles of fish that we had seen earlier in the day. Through out the night guys caught cod on jigs, and bait for as long as they wanted to stay at the rail, but very few were keepers. some guys had as many as 30 cod for the night, only keeping about 3 or 4. The next morning we went back to where we had the morning bite the day before and had a good pick of fish with a few nicer fish in the mix.

From there we went back to where we we had seen the most bait that morning, and had a phenomenal bite. Each drift seemed to get better and better until the last one before we had to call it a trip. With a much better keepers to short ratio and some flurries of 10-12 pound fish we were averaging 40-50 keepers per drift for the boat, and guys were able to fill their coolers up quickly before the end of the trip.
