I had the itch to go cod fishing on Sat. night. So I called the American Classic and I got their machine and they said that they were not sailing on Sunday because of lack of interest. So I called Helen-H and got their machine they said they were sailing but trip was sold out. I took my chance on a no-show and drove down anyway. Got lucky and was able to get on the boat.

The boat left the dock at 3:00 am. It was a long ride to the fishing grounds. We start fishing around 7:30. Fishing start good but all I caught were shorts. I did get one keeper then the fishing died down and Capt. Joe moved around but fishing was slow. After a couple of moves Capt Joe but us on some good fish. There were about 1/2 dozen fish between 25 to 30lbs. I caught 7 fish between 10 and 15 lbs. Over all fishing was not great but I did get about 30lbs. of fillets.

Someone on the boat caught a small halibut. It was 32" long legal limit is 36". So back it went. It was the first halibut I have seen caught in this area. I sure would like to catch it's father someday.

I also saw the Fissuses out there.

I going out on Thursday with Mass. Bay Guides out of Scituate. I don't know which boat we will be sailing on yet. A friend of mine booked the trip and just asked me if I would go. Do bears shit in the woods? I could not say no.
