Today I had Vinny, Scott and Bob out for some Delaware Bay Stripers. We left the dock at 8:00 am to hit the outgoing tide. Got to the fishing grounds a little early and saw bait and diving birds. set up and put lines in and had the first keeper in the box in short order. As the tide came to an end so do did the bite. We waited for the swing and once the tide started to move again nothing happened, so I made a move to hunt for some fish. I ran about 7 miles up the bay and found nothing. I set up on some structure that looked ot be a great ambush point for the stripers but nothing happened. I was determened to put these guys on some fish and asked them to stick it out. They did, I made a few more moves and still nothing. I made on last move right back to the spot I was before in the begining of the morning and as the wind came a howling and the tide started moving, the fish came on big time. It was one fish after another coming in five to ten minutes intervals. We quickly got out 3 man limit and headed for the barn leaving the fish biting. The guys stuck it out for 12 hrs and got their reward with fresh stripers filets for the table.
Till next time,
