IKONOS Imagery for southern Florida used to map shallow-water seafloor habitats

This project is a cooperative effort between the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, National Park Service, U.S. Geological Survey, NOVA Southeastern University, the University of Miami, and the NOAA National Ocean Service’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, and Special Projects Office. One-meter panchromatic and four-meter multispectral color IKONOS commercial satellite imagery was purchased to support the National Ocean Service, Coral Reef Conservation Program’s coral mapping activities in southern Florida.
