2000 U.S. Census Data Aggregated by Block within the Coastal Zone

This dataset consists of polygonal boundaries for U.S. Census Blocks within the Coastal Zone with 2000 Census data at the block level. A Census Block is a subdivision of a census tract. Census blocks are small areas bounded on all sides by visible features such as streets, roads, streams, and railroad tracks, and by invisible boundaries such as city, town, township, and county limits, property lines, and short, imaginary extensions of streets and roads. A block is the smallest geographic unit for which the Census Bureau tabulates 100-percent data. The Census Bureau established blocks covering the entire nation for the first time in 1990. Over 8 million blocks are identified for Census 2000.
